I've been at my bro's place at the weekend, and when he appeared with a nice piece of dry willow for the fire, I thought we should give to my "Mudsnake" a workout...
As the wood looked dry, and full with larvas of bugs I thought it will be an easy task...but the wood was extremely hard and sticky. The cbt's helped a lot, but we both worked hard to get through the log.

Nice one!
Gotta love the user pics.
CGFBM is one of my favorites.
thanks for sharing.

Great pics ! I'd say your blade got a workout with a piece of wood that size .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Very nice pics,

some of that wood would make cool handles

Did that punky wood burn very well?

Nice fix on the handle, I may have to steal that idea for my Snake sided CGFBM to fatten it up a little.

Thanks guys,

resinguy, yep, while snakeskin is my fav micarta, the standard handles are a bit thinnish, so I did a quick para'-wrap on it...It works, but there should be some better wrap-pattern. also.
It moved from the hump after the first chopping session, but after it stayed in it's place, and fits snugly. It definitely improves the grip.

...and yes that log kept us warm all night long.

Very cool pics! Looks like an enjoyable day out.
