i just recently got a leatherman wingman and realized the blade has a hair of front to back blade play, is this normal for a wingman ?

The Wingman has a liner lock-style tab. Both of mine have a little wiggle, but nothing I'd call worrisome. Even holding the tab down, there's enough friction that the blade doesn't swing freely. At the price point they sell for, they're the rented mules of the multitool world: worth the money and functional - but you're going to be disappointed if you wanted a pony.

Normal for most Leatherman I have handled.

It's a plier based tool first, a knife second or maybe even third.

My rebar has a little bit of play, It's just how they are.

I think if they made the tolerances any tighter, they would be too hard to open.

I've had 3, only one developed up and down play. The pivot screw holding it in place needs to be tightened. Don't go crazy, little bit goes a long way.

That said, the liner lock normally sets at 100 percent from out the box, meaning there is no room to break in. If the blade tang doesn't match up right to the lock face it will have up and down play. At that point though unless it's extreme there is no problem with the lock working properly.

My Leatherman Wave and Skeletool both have a little wiggle, but not much. Well within what I consider to be reasonable for a MT blade.
