A bit of Carbon

I just got this 1 yesterday. I had it made with carbon blade(XC75) matt bolsters & cow bone scsles(ithink it will look great with patina on blade & darkening bone). only a little fella with blade under 3" but broad across the beam

Out of curisoty I also got a pocket steel.

Very nice. One of my Laguioles is a Laguiole D'artisan probably the nicest one I own. Just one issue, don't you wish the French had gotten the hang of putting blade kicks on folders?

Couple of nice 1's you have there.

Yep their are some putting blade kicks on, such as fontinelle & Chambriard but they only do carbon blades in larger models.

I'll let you know how the carbon holds up, I didn't mentin it came real sharp.

Nice knife. I have a Laguiole de l'Artisan in 12C27. But I'm jealous, if I had the choice of carbon I would've gotten that. Do you mind sharing the source of your new knife?

Nice looking Laguiole.

Regarding the carbon blades, I don't have any pics of mine, (Pataud, 11cm, with juniper scales) but man does it get scary sharp. On a few occasions I have nicked myself while peeling apples or cutting something small.

Even though it has a nice patina on it, if I don't use it for a month or so, it seems to "speckle" a little more. Maybe there's not enough patina to totally prevent it from "rusting" I don't know for sure, but boy I like the knife though!

Matt, could be all my carbon blades are real dark. I'm interested in seeing how XC75 holds up.
