I use the ECO hawk few times and quickly I noticed that the knife edge need small improvement so I polish the edge off. I try will use the ECO hawk again soon...and report. Did anybody come in up with some handle design? BTW, what happened to Vec the creator of the ECO hawk... I don't see Him around no more?

I've been wondering what became of him, too! His posts were always interesting to read. I've noticed that the EcoHawk is going to be available to dealers soon. It used to be an exclusive through him, so I wonder what prompted the change. Always loved the look of the design though, so I'm glad I'll finally have access to them!

Well, it is a very nice piece of gear for sure. For me still very mysterious piece of steel to my knowledge, though I don't fully understand the Holes and Notch yet. I think that the notch is for accommodate a future handle and the Holes to put some kind of weights to increase chopping power. It's a shame that Vec is not around....because I'm just speculate at this point.

I think the holes were for some sort of alternate lashing scheme. Somehow. :o

Vec is here. Vec created scales for the ECO hawk a sheath hybrid. You can see this at his website or find him at Dirt Time.
