I've been splitting wood today, as a means of blowing off some steam during studying for my January exams. I got bored of using the large axe, which was a bit overkill for the smaller birch pieces, they split like crazy. I had an axe head of 800grammes that I bought for 2 euros in a local second hand shop of which the handle had broken. Hadn't found a good replacement, so I had some fun carving one out of a relatively fresh branch that was lying around.
Not a handle that is going to be permanent, too many knots in the wood and all that, but today it worked like a charm since the wooden handle was still somewhat wet. Splitting wood like a champ! Much less overkill as a 2 kilogram head, lol.

Just wanna show how much fun I had with that little bugger.

Anyone else having these 'heat of the moment'-type of things where you just grab your Becker and start doing sh*t with it?:D
 
HA! you used a smaller knife to put a larger knife into service. That's awesome!!
 
Nice work, crafting from nature what you need to accomplish a task. That's getting back to basics! :)
 
Nice pics, the 14 is hands down my favorite Becker. You can get so much out of that small knife, it's truly amazing. I wish I lived in a state where I could pocket conceal it, it would be my EDC.

I'm glad that I live in a quiet town, then. Relatively quiet for 40k residents that is.
No seriously, from time to time I watch programs such as cops, or where police units in the UK stop people and frisk them. I've never even seen something like that happening anywhere over here. Not even in the larger cities in this country, and I attend university in one of 'em. I wouldn't take a BK14 there or when I go shopping for clothes or whatnot (then it's usually a SAK like a cadet), but for a hike -short or long- in the woods, plains, along rivers... Who would randomly search you there? :thumbup:
I think that random searches/frisks are completely against the law here too, except when they have a very good reason for suspicion (which is pretty vague, I know). Anyways, laws and all that :-).

The trick to getting searched, picture the absolute hottest girl you've ever imagined as the one that is going to search you. Then when the cop is done, and you're sportin' wood, look at him and say "Well, hell son, you gonna finish or what?"


If nothing else it's a good laugh.
