About 3 weeks ago, I took my SNG completely apart and cleaned and lubed it. When I put it back together I stupidly put the handle screws in the wrong way. I even remember that when I was screwing them in I was wondering how the screws were able to bite into the G10 and hold tightly, but I did it anyway.

It happened to be in my pocket a few days ago when I took apart another knife to clean. Well, I noticed the SNG just wasn't right. When I looked closely I realized my mistake. When I started unscrewing the screws to put them in the other way, only one came out. The other two just spun in the hole. I tried to push them through and they only lifted about two millimeters. Well luckily I was able to grab the small nut that was holding them in with my Leatherman tool. I was able to put the screws in the right way and make the knife right again.

It goes to show that not only can the SNG can handle the tough chores of day to day use, it can also hold up to the bonehead factor.

if it was a sebbie it wouldn't have matter which way your put the screws in. :p :p

those of us with no "bonehead moments" are not enjoying the reason we bought the knife in the 1st place, tinkering, making it better, seeing how it works. (the latter is my weekness). glad all worked out! (go leatherman!)
