My wife has some sort of obsession with a machete.
She buys on something like every third trip to Harbor Freight.
I find the damned things all over the house.
I can't complain though - she puts up with all my crap (guns, knives, small hand tools, etc) that occupy nearly every horizontal surface in the house.
Beats the hell out of her buying a bunch of shoes though....![]()

Thank you.Daniel Edward (D E) Henry - "Collins Machetes and Bowies 1845 - 1965". Mainly on Collins and Co, who were America's premier maker, but it crosses into other types of machete lore and knowledge quite well.
I like books and I like machetes, so I figured I'd like a book about machetes. Not had much luck finding any. All I've been able to turn up is the one tltt mentioned. You'd think there'd be more. What’s your purpose in asking? Do you want to make a gift, or do you want to learn about machetes yourself. If the former, no clue. If the latter, prowl Youtube. The videos by Joe Flowers are especially instructive, especially on machete use, but they don’t tell you everything. I have learned a lot by watching reviews, etc by a lot of different people. The Machete Specialists’ web site has a lot of basic info on types of machetes, but it doesn’t tell you everything either. Prowlthe forums; you can learn a lot that way. Ask some questions. Spend some time on the Baryonyx website.
