Hey guys....I took a bit of a break for awhile....too much stuff to do around the house....but I needed to make a Bowie...I was getting stir crazy.

A few months back I pressed out a 140 layer billet of O1 and L6....I used an end of it for a small knife for a friend....but I wasnt sure I had enough for a Bowie. So i set about some extensive squeezing back an forth to get a big blade.

I purposely left the etch dark on the Damascus.

It's 10" long in the blade...1/4" thick spine...with wrought iron for the guard and ferrule. The handle is a sweet piece of Sambar that I picked up last year at the ABS event here in Troy.

Very nice! Looks like you had enough material for that big blade.

Bowie's are just too cool....always number 1 in my book!
You selling?

Cool, that's a big bowie, bad looking bowie, you must have forged pretty close to shape to make the most of your steel. I love the handle.

Greg, Honey Does? Glad to see you making again! I bet you come down with a bad case of wanting to get back at it. Great looking bowie!

Very nice Greg. It's got all those little extra touches I've grown to expect from you that give your knives that extra touch of class.
What's the butt cap made from?

Nice one Greg! Looks like you could cut a 55 gallon can in half with that thing!

Ya know Mace.....I just got done painting my shop a couple weeks ago....I think all that old paint peeling was a result of the damned 55 gal drum....sheez....P>>>U!!!

The ABS event in Troy was held just a few days after the local county fair....so the flies and trash were horrible. I'm afraid that might have been everyone's impression of Troy. I've never understood the fair thing anyways.....sit all day in the hot summer sun next to piles of pig and cow crap and eat a corn dog? Well....to each his own i guess.:barf:

Great looking bowie Greg. I like.

Just tell Mace to use a ring of stones next time and not vandelize the park and your shop. :barf:

That was way too funny a weekend.
