Greetings All

This bowie is bound for Alaska - I usually make this bowie in W-2 with a hidden tang - the client wanted full tang with CPM 3V so here it is. Of note is the wood - it's professionally stabilized, unpigmented Bastogne Walnut with broken fiddleback figure.....bastogne exhibits a chatoyance that is very distinctive. Hand rubbed blade to 400 grit pull strokes.....I hate hand rubbing 3V - it eats sandpaper like candy. :(

All comments welcome.

13" OAL
8" Flat ground blade
.250" Ricasso

Lovin' the Bastogne! Bad-a__ and beautiful all at once, a real winner, Tim.

Very nice job on the knife and sheath Tim, you're right about that Bastogne Walnut it is some really nice looking wood.

that is outstanding. I always love your work, though it is quite different from what I do. Question, is the little ridge on the ricasso near the first guard just a raised bit of the ricasso or is it a spacer? I like the knife a lot. I just want to be sure what I am seeing. I don't think I have ever noticed that feature before.

Hi Kevin - thanks for the kind words. What you are looking at is a solder joint. :)

Beautiful knife Tim and that blade style is Saweet! I like the hand rubbed finish on the blade the most also. :D

damn that's funny (the solder joint). I haven't seen one in so long I didn't realize that is what I am looking at. I should have known, on this style of knife. That is really funny. I used to do that with my own knives. But... I forgot.

That's OK Kevin - I can see where you're coming from - when I forget something I call it a "Senior Moment" :D

Having lived in Alaska.....I'd use this baby in the bush. When I was in the military, I was in every corner of the state.....I would've loved to have this blade while I was there!!

Thanks for the kind words again fellas! Appreciate it :)
