Just went whacking on a 2*4 that was a small piece from a deck in Pilot Town, LA that had been submerged. Stuff was actually pretty hard judging by what would have happened relative to a fresh 2*4...

Battle Saw was most efficient. M9LE was super impressive, and all the blades would have eventually made it through. The Miller Bros at .213", 5.5" past the choil and 15.2 Oz and the DS8 were pretty comparable. The B8 and the ASH2 were great, and the HHFSH was a beast - it was almost as effective as the Battle Saw.

All this was by feel, and not counting strokes but spending about the same amount of time and force with each blade - I was not going all out, just forceful swings.

Oh yeah - BBLE is a champion and chews it up, one of my all time favorites.

Running my fingernail down the blades, there were some minor catches, although all of these blades remained super sharp, either via factory or modded edges.

No roles, chips or dings, not a hint, and either a cleaning to take out mcro debris, a strop or a ceramic and these blades are back to pristine. The M9LE shaved hairs, and i did not test anymore for fear of slicing the veins that started to appear.

Not extreme by any means, its just cool to see the edges were virtually untouched and by human eye, you could not tell they had cut anything but paper...

Anyways, made some notches and had a little fun before skeeters got too bad, and my buddy had just finished making some deer/boar sausage tacos, so I did not want to be rude.

Here are some pics, no order or relevance to blade placement and notches...it was just a little quick pre-dark fun.

That’s a nice family of Busse you have. Bet that was fun

Very nice collection.

I'll take that HH when you decide you don't want it anymore.

We threw the crash axe and the battle saw, and I got some solid direct strikes with the battle saw - deep sinkage and a lot of displaced wood! That hammer pommel left some serious depressions as well. The crash axe's best stick was from the pry-bar on the end...would hate to catch that on the calf...ouch...

and thanks all - blessed to be able to procure such fine cutlery. If only that was where my insanity stopped, it would not be insane at all! It is so hard to put ANY Busse up for sale for me...although I need to herd-thin, it is so hard to put any blade in the for sale sale box...:confused::eek::D:poop:;)

Can you compare performance of DS8 vs B8? Just your personal impressions? Bits of feedback like this are great—thank you!:cool:

Awesome!!!!! Why didn't the SRKW M9 get to eat too???

It did, it just fell off the board and I did not notice when snapping the pics...it's down in the dirt between the saw horses, it makes an appearance in the pics after all!

I was going to catch and release it potentially, and I am glad I did not after chopping with it even for a short time. If there were ever an INFI version released, I might actually sell 90% of my stash and load up on those (why would I load up on an un-breakable blade? because...). Although, other than potential rust issues, that DHT with hamon on the M9LE makes it something special all on its own!

I would have to go with B8 at the moment, although it is not really fair to say that until I get to do that again and focus more on those two blades. I probably spent the least amount of time on the Miller Bros and the DS8 based on light and real estate on the board...one side had nails I had to avoid...

AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing the pix, story, and your impressions!
I KNEW that BBLE was gonna ROCK! I sure wish I hadn't had to cancel mine.
