I'd like to share a picture of my nephew's first knife. It was taken recently when he was visiting last weekend. I got it for him a while ago, and when I saw him playing with it I just had to take a picture.

As you can see it's a Victorinox SAK. I want to teach this boy right, and that means buying quality tools whenever possible.

I gave one of those to my son last Christmas. It has a funky little carabiner hook, so he'd hook it to a belt loop and carry it around, and had to show it to everybody. He still plays with it. Oh, and the big blade is stiff enough to spread peanut butter & jelly for PBJ. :D

thx - cpr

Great looking nephew, and great knife as well. It's the one I got my kids on their second birthdays. When they reached 7, I got them a SAK classic midnight manager, with the pen cartridge and LED. I asked them to always have it in their pocket around the house, and found lots of "projects" for them to use it on. They soon found out how useful it was. Hopefully the things we do create lasting impressions and lifelong habits.

Great photo of a happy kid! Nifty knife, and very cool glasses. :)

Thanks for the kind comments guys. It really wasn't hard getting him started on knives as he always seems to watch whenever I cut something with my pocketknives.
