They say variety is the spice of life. Well, I needed some spice. My day-job is really sapping my energy badly.
Nothing like a hot forge and hammering some steel to get the blood flowing again.
Got these done just the last couple of days, with more coming. The hamons are all different. If you play with the brightness/darkness settings on the screen you can get the details in the hamons to show up. A lucky stroke that the hamons on all 3 showed up in the same shot !!!
All forged 1095, clay-coat edge hardened, multi-interrupted quench process. Handles are black rayskin, sanded surface finish, epoxied nylon wrap. Big ones have 5.75inch, 5.5inch blades and Maurie McCarthy cast bronze dragon menuki's; Smaller one has 4.5inch blade and a silver cherub menuki. Thanks for looking. Comments and feedback always welcomed. Cheers. Jason.
