When we began the Beckerheads, at my request and to Ethan's enjoyment, what we decided, was to no be like other groups that have been created.

One of the reasons why it takes so long to get your status elevated once you have applied, is that I go through and check, all of your stats.

When you post in the BKT forum, and it counts towards your application, I read it.

I measure it as a "+1" or "Yeah, I love it....." post of merit.

Every member, has contributed to our forum, and must do so, in order to gain their status as a Beckerhead.

Just because you have 200 post in our forum, doesn't mean they are of merit, it just means you like to post. :D

To gain your approval, you have to meet my approval, and every single person that has number, had done just that. And then some.

My schedule anymore doesn't permit me much free time, but I have not vetted a single member without rereading their posts.

That said, I am glad to be one of ya'll, and to be granted the privilege to sponsor, vet and approve all Beckerheads.

I'm honored in doing so.

So, I am going to amend the timeline of how long it might take to get your status approved, just to help out future 'Heads in regards to when they might get their approval.

Moose

Thanks Moose, for all you do. Having been (and still am) members of a varying organizations, I can say that the harder it is to qualify for an organization, the more pride you feel in your membership. I have been offered/solicited/begged to join a certain organization, and in fact, was quite insulted because this group only wanted me because of my job. They never met me, didn't know me, I was just a quota slot being filled. needless to say, I declined the offer.

i remeber checking the forums several times a day to see if I received my number yet. I felt like a kid waiting for an expected package in the mail. When I finally got it, I felt such a huge sense of pride and honor. It was completely worth the wait! Thanks Moose and the rest of the Heads for making this community so special.

thanks moose it takes awhile too go thru all the posts no doubt and being a beckerhead is an honor and a pleasure!! just be patients guys the wait makes it all the better i think!

All good things, as the saying goes.

The way I see it is that Beckerheads have a good amount of common sense, We realize that Beckers are excellent knives at a fair price, Sure you can spend more for a knife, But that does not mean that you'll get a knife better then a Becker, And we are not afraid to share our love and opinions on Becker knives. If you feel the same way, Then you are already a Beckerhead or a future Beckerhead or a closet Beckerhead.

Good things come to those who wait. It's a great community around here and the process makes it all the more rewarding to finally achieve your number

I'm never shy about offering my 2 cents, so hitting the post requirement wasnt an issue for me. What took me longer was I really wanted to have 5 threads of some substance so i just patiently waited until i thought i actually had hit 5 worth anything before i applied.

You guys rock, proud to be apart of the BHeads

Thank you for these words Moose. I just wanted to say I'm proud to be part of this community and I love to contribute to it, and I will continue to do so in the future.
Every opinion is welcome here, and I appreciate that. I also appreciate the almost daily topics in the BH forum, and read most -if not all- of them from first post to last. The contributions by the members (as well as many of aspiring members!) are all top notch. Great stuff guys, keep it going.

Hey Mr. Moose, just an idea but maybe its time to find someone else to help with these types of things around here as the forum has grown a lot in the past few years.

It was a wait not very different than waiting for new Beckers to arrive in the mail...
Kind of like a craving for something you really really like,,, like new Beckers in the mail... Daaah, did I mention that twice.....
The part about Beckers in the mail, lol...

I am continually amazed at the generosity, knowledge, friendliness, diversity, skill level, sense of humor...etc. of all the Beckerheads. I don't know many of you guys very well (yet), but I feel very lucky to be a part of such a great group of people. Moose, I don't know how you do it.. there have been times in my life where I have worked like you are doing now and I couldn't barely operate in the real world, much less virtual world too... Thanks for all you do for this place and us.

I think you just volunteered yourself.....LOL

Thanks Moose for all you do!!

Thanks for the post Moose and for all the hard work you put into the selection process. I haven' t gotten there yet, but working on it. Looking forward to the day

believe it or not, the whole reason i joined bladeforums -and i may not be alone here- was to join the "beckerhead" community. while i may have alot in common with the rest of the bladeforums world, it seems that this community is more "active" than others...(dare i say, rabid?)....
comradarie and morale both seem high here....humor is highly intact....who would not want to be a beckerhead????
