A brush and razor holder

I made this the other week from some scraps of CarbonFiber and bamboo flooring. I still haven't sealed it or glued it yet, but it works just great for either my British SS or my long handled Merkur 23C.

A clever design. Once the bamboo is finished, it will be a great contrast to the carbon-fiber, sort of an east-meets-west, old-meets-new contrast... and I like that in the application. Some people talk about DE shaving as being "old fashioned." Well, it does have some antiquated elements to it, but I doubt that great-grandpa ever used a blade the Teflon coating. And so today's modern DE shaving is this sort of old-meets-new thing coupling the best of tradition with the best of technology in an interesting balance.

I very much like the juxtaposition of the two materials, although they aren't all that different. Both are enigneering miracle materials, strong, light, one is moldable and the other is renewable. Nice you noticed that!
