Yesterday I was at work, cutting some old rope off the dock behind our building. I was using my 501 Squire, and it was working rather well. I had just finished making the last cut when the knife slipped, hit the dock and bounced into the creek. KERPLUNK! I've grown to hate that noise. Unfortunately, the water's pretty cold and deep behind our building, so that one's lost to the depths. Thankfully it's an easy knife to replace, since, as my friend would say, "They make'em every day".

So who else has lost a Buck knife? I know I can't be the only one out there.

Thats a drag. I had a tempest stolen and have lost only one other Buck, a script wood handled 500:grumpy: :( :o :thumbdn: a Christmas gift from my mom.

C Ben Susrool,

I considered that, but the tide really rips through there. I have to wonder if it would even be near where it fell at this point.

While in the Coast Guard I lost my very first Buck over the side of the flight deck while working on some cargo netting. It was my trusty 112 and she sits at the bottom of Davy Jones' Locker off the coast of Alaska...that was 30 plus years ago and I still miss that knife...

A couple of years back I let one of my son's carry a 110 AG deer hunting. He was ten years old and apparently hadn't yet learned how to properly buckle a belt. We were almost back to the truck when he realized he had lost the knife. We had probably walked nearly 3 miles that day. Anyhow, we walked back most of where we had been, but didn't find the knife. One week later we hunted the same area, and while walking across an open harvested soybean field (approximately 30 acre field), my foot rolled on something causing me to stumble slightly. It was the AG110 in it's sheath. Beside being wet from rain that week, the knife and sheath were fine.

I lost my very first Buck 110 bought around 1969 to a thief.

Would rather it be with the fishes!

Peter

Lost several knives over the side of the boat. I usually only take crap knives now bowfishing etc, but I lost nice SAC when I was little after being told not to bring it. get a retrieval magnet (usually in the fishing section) that will hold 100lbs. maybe you wont find your knife, but perhaps you will find someones knife from upstream.;)

A knife is one thing but I dropped my cell phone off the side of my boat on Saturday. That cost me about $400 dollars.:mad::mad:

I bought a big magnet with a eye to tie a rope on at HF long ago.....Everyone knows I have one and borrows it frequently. Usually for car keys. Sometimes you find it and sometimes you don't. Weather keeps getting hotter and drier and we may be able to find everything..when places dry up.....well likely not the ocean......300

Sorry to hear about the knife and the phone but the knife is a sad loss . Dale

It has been awhile Matt , I hope you got a new phone and I'm sure you have another knife hey thats a good looking bass in you profile picture is that one from lake Hodges .

Matt, that's rough man. My girlfriend's mom lost 4 phones overboard within the course of a year. I think they ended up refusing her insurance for a bit.

I think we actually have a pretty big magnet at work, so I'll give it a few sweeps today and see what I can find.

Well, no luck with the magnet. We get some strong tides coming through there, so I'm thinking it probably drifted a bit once it hit the water. Ah well, I'll have to pick myself up another one when I get the chance.

Sorry, I thought you found it. Don't give up !
