I'm surprised there aren't more knife maker types who specialize in re-handling slipjoints. Seems like there would be a big market for upgraded versions of Buck's 300 line, U.S.-made Old Timers, Case's delrin-handled knives, and so forth. I'm not talking about a knife maker who'll quietly do a one-off job for someone. I mean creating a website and offering, for instance, various knives with a choice of stag or bone or colored micarta handles. I know I would really go for a Buck 309 with nice bone handles.
Or is there someone doing this that I don't know about?
