Christmas will soon be here, and today my family and I went looking for an ideal christmas tree. Thankfully, I live in a very wooded part of Kentucky, and cedars are quite common (Also, I plan to plant several different kinds of beautiful evergreens to replace the tree we are taking). After much searching, we decided on a twelve foot cedar that was very symmetric and beautiful.
We wanted to allow the stump to continue growing (cedars are hardy in that respect), so we left about a foot of stump and most of the branches on that section. How did we get it down? Well, because we wanted to leave as many of the branches on the tree (above as well as below the choppinp point) and because there was so much brush and brambles closely surrounding the tree, a compact chopper was a must. Well, I pulled out my Steel Heart E and went to work. It easily chopped through the cedar's trunk (about 4") in quite a short time.
Now that beautiful tree is in my living room and is probably the nicest christmas tree I have ever had. It was a pleasure both carrying and using the SH. It was the perfect tool for this occasion.
Also, I really can't tell a difference in its sharpness, so no touch-up necessary.
I also plan to cut the christmas ham and/or turkey with my Busse.
It's going to be a very Busse christmas
