a busted colonial no more!

whipped this up this past weekend, the blade came from a busted up colonial that was my grandads, ground a swedge, epoxied and pinned it into an antler tip a friend gave me.
whipped up a sheath for it to carry in pocket. Its a bit rustic and my dye job (antler) went belly up, but its sharp, solid and usable again
got it pictured with my edc case medium stockman. Sheath has excellent retention and the antler provides a good grip
just one possible resurrection for an unusable pocket knife!

That is totally unique. An interesting way to recycle something that might have gone on the scrap heap, and a nice way to pay homage to your granddad.

Cool!

Cool. :) Unusual looking, but seems handy. A tiny sheath-knife is a useful piece of kit.

I like it. I had a patch knife that was similar once. Traded away long ago for forgotten treasure.

thanks guys! Paul this little guy will likely reside in my muzzle loading gear box, looks good next to the bullet flask i made a few months back!
Thanks All for looking at my weird little creation:D

Get a good look guys, you'll never run across another one of those! Awesome way to give an old blade a new chance at life.

Truly a unique knife. I like it! How did you get the blade into the antler?

blaine, i drilled the antler tip out, drilled it for a cross pin to go through the hole in the blade, epoxied the whole thing together.
the old timer way would be to soak the antler in water till the pithy core gets soft (weeks) then carefully jam the blade in then when it dries it should seal up solid.
Thanks everybody, shes not a looker but looks right at home with all my other supplies for my Hawkens rifle
