This one, CR 31, is going to a professor of art in Spain to be used as his hunting knife - Gib would be pleased!

As always it's even better in person - the subtle variations/nuances of the colors are much richer in person and of course there is the tactile senses, of touch and smell, which no camera can ever capture.........
Here are the specifications:
Blade length: 5 9/16" - blade has a bit of filework on it
Blade steel: 5160
Overall length: 10"
Handle: mule deer leg bone with a buffalo rawhide and hemp thread wrap
Guard: Brass
Sheath: Bark tan cowhide liner with a carved deer rawhide cover
Decoration: Beaded brain tan buckskin cuff and beaded lower edge with brass tacks and nails. Glass beads, tin cone, and buffalo hair danglers. The belt loop is bark tan cowhide with a carved deer rawhide "fix'it" patch

COOL. I bet the professor will be envied by everyone that sees that package.

Well done!

Peter

This Hunter and Sheath, like other pieces you have posted in the past,
are beginning to really catch my interest. This whole knifemaking discipline
really has great visual appeal... It photographs so well and you really do
a great job photographing these sets.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

This one was nice change of pace from the bigger Bowies and such - still as much work just on a smaller scale

Do you have a bunch of Gib's blades?
Keith I've got a few - if you're interested drop me a line and I'll send some pics.

David another book perhaps? If you're interested in more makers of this genre drop me a line sometime chuck@wrtcleather.com - the few of us who post here are just the tip of proverbial iceberg for both knives and sheaths, although I'm one of the very few doing this type/amount of beadwork.

David that is high praise indeed coming from you - especially considering my very primitive setup Thank you very much, you made my day!

I also have Coop to thank, he traded me one of his digital cameras a few years back......I was an old film shooter from way back, but going digital has been a great advantage...

And thanks to everyone else who took the time to look and post......

Wild Rose, I may not have the eye for it some do but I'm pretty sure from what I've seen in some of you're posts you're pissin with the big dogs in period pieces Great work!
Ken.
