A case of HIKV

I think it's fair to say I caught a case of HIKV. I came to this forum about a month ago looking for advice on a high quality kukri and started with 16.5 inche 23 ounce kvuk. Long story short in the past month I've started a small collection. Getting a 12.5 inch 10 ounce Katunje my special that I used to trim some of my shrubbery I'm the hear on a warm day this winter.
An 11.75 in pen knife by Keshar Lal's son. That I haven't tested out yet, but I'm thinking will be a go to hunting/ short day hikes.
And finally a 15 inche 24ounce CAK that feels like it was made for my hand. The full tang helps bring the balance a little closer to the handle, about 1-2 inches in front of the handle. I tested it on some firewood I have left over from this summer. It doesn't split quite as good as my hatchet, but that is to be expected, I'm looking forward to learning how to use it this summer clearing out the grove on the family farm

HIKV isn't a bad thing to have, there are alot of worse things. Many of us have it. Sadly or perhaps happily there is no cure except more knives.
I've tossed my hatchets and use my CAK for kindling and that sort of stuff. I like it a lot better.
Mine is a bit larger than yours although your size would work fine for me now. Got some bundles of left overs from a shake mill so it's easy to split finer and the CAk works great.

Hell, just buy 'em all and save yourself some pain. Once HIKV sets in, you're doomed and there's no escape. One becomes two. Two becomes three. Three becomes ten or fourteen! It gets worse. You'll run out of wall space. Your spouse will say it's those dern khuks or me! Boy, you're sure gonna miss her. Bawanna has his on sliding doors to create more display space. Ndoghouse actually snorts 'em. I no longer know just exactly how many I have---at least fifty-eleven....and poor ol' Cul is the group leader down at Khukuri Anonymous. There's NO cure I tell you. Just send your wallet to Mrs. Martino and she'll see that you're amply taken care of and won't over charge you.

It feels light enough that I could use it almost all day without getting too tired.

I just messaged Yangdu about getting a YCS kukri with some engravings on it. I'm sure I'll be amazed by the craftsmanship want quality once I get it, just like I've been with each one I've opened up so far.

Your doomed face it! For me theres nothing better than 5160 powder! It binds to all the silica in my lungs from my other habits like flint knapping and converts to some more workable compounds! I can then clean up them undesirable compounds by eating a crushed up neodymium magnet with a shot of apple cider vinegar and two shots of baking soda. A violent foaming action then ensues and when all thats done im clean and free of all 5160 except whats still on the table (Save that for the next DOTD)! Do it while your young tho so you'll have a chance at a respectable life tho. Make sure there's no heavy metal objects (AKA KLVUKS, Chiruwa AKs, Katanas) on the path to your bathroom. All should be fine next day. Repeat and rinse Im living proof!
