A cautionary tale.

I must have had a bit too much to drink before sending in my ganzaaa email, because when I typed in my address, all the 7s in my zip code came out as 9s. And it turns out that while "777**" is East Podunk, Texas, "999**" is somewhere in Alaska. And the United States Postal Service does not appear to have the ability to take the rest of the address and figure out what the correct zip code is. If only they'd heard of Google, or had some sort of book where they could look up zip codes by city, my Kill Devil Sniper Hawk would be here in East Podunk instead of being "undeliverable" in some post office in El Paso.

So to all you piglets out there, learn from my mistake. If you're going to drink heavily while waiting for the "GO," make sure you type out your email before you start drinking.

Ugh... that stinks. Hope it gets cleared up quickly for you.

That sucks! The only American postal coded I know is 90210. They must get a ton of crap mail because any time I sign up for something and need an American PO, thats my go to.

Since my first post, the hawk was sent to the sorting facility in Dallas, which gave me some hope that it was going to find its way to East Podunk. But it was not to be. The tracking page says it was proceessed through the sorting facility in Allen Park, Michigan, this morning, so it looks like it's going back to Busse.

I'm really amazed at the stunning competence of the USPS. Everything was correct except the zip code, so once they found that was wrong at the post office in Juneau, all they had to do was type the other address information into the "Look Up a ZIP Code™" utility on their own website. You'd think that as long as they're sending it to Texas, they could at least try sending it to a post office in East Podunk before giving up.

I've had this happen before. They go by the ZIP code first and only. ...having some ganza KDSH angst myself...

At least this stoy has a happy ending. The hawk was returned to Besse yesterday, and Lexi overnighted it to me (at no additional charge), and now I'm trying to wrap the handle. Can't bet that Busse service.

I got a note in tge mail saying the kdsh was at the PO..... i get there and note package!!!!!!! The guy has to finish his deliveries. About a 30min wait said the ladies at the counter
