Hi Folks!

I just picked up a 14K gold Schrade lobster that I've been looking for for quite some time. I believe it's the same as what's been posted a million times in a certain catalog add, and which I'll be darned if I can find a copy of with the company's name!! Who WAS that? Abercrombe and Fitch? Norm Thompson? I really can't recall. I've include the more generic add. It's tough finding one of these as they had to be ordered through Schrade-Walden, and not the catalog, so there's no paperwork from the catalog company to accompany the knife. Anyway, here are a few shots. It's definitely built like a jewel:

Eric, i dunno which company it was, but i sure like your new EDC !
i have a similar Schrade Walden box, but mine has a very nice Marine Pearl Lobster knife with candlestick bolsters. came to me from the Lanigans. roland

That is a nice one Eric. Quite a presentation box for a knife. Not one for the garage or shop, but would look right at home on the desk of a Wall Street executive. Note the early stamping, with no USA included.

...I think there was an Italian Latama in similar style.............naw just joshin ya!
Eric I've often wondered what that Gentlemans knife looked like in the flesh......simply beautiful...bet it cost a bit as it was US$125 back in the early 50's.....
I had seen the advert many times on Larry Vickery's site. Hoo Roo

Exceptional Eric! what a real nice piece of workmanship, I've seen the artist's rendition many times here and there. Fantastic to see pics of the genuine article.

Thanks guys! Larry, I HOPE there isn't a Latama connection:eek::D
I don't think these boxes were exclusive to this knife. I'm under the impression that they were an option when ordering the higher end gent's knives. I've got the check some old cats. on Larry's site, I think I recall seeing something to that effect in one of the old Walden catalogs.

Eric

PS- Checked the catalogs fromt the fifties and all I've found is the maroon flocked jewelry box option, nothing about the wood box so far.....
