So I'm sitting here, about to take a shower after covering myself in wood chips while listening to rock/metal music all day and came across the "newbie wants a Busse" thread that was posted just minutes ago. The thought occurred to me, we have the acronym thread in the stickies but no pics to go with them. So my thought is this, how about creating a thread that has all of the acronyms with links to pics of the knife listed in the definition thread. I usually have some free time (often) when not at work and procrastinating doing my homework :o So would you guys be game? I'd have no problem starting a new thread listing all the acronyms and linking them to pics of the knives. I would need help with the photos of the knives as well as any acronyms that may have been missed. I'll open up a photobucket account just for these pics so they will never disappear even if I do :D So what say you? I think if someone were to want photo credit, they could put their name/etc. somewhere on the photo.

Alright... So that's my thoughts. What's yours? (Not about me showering, but the new thread haha)

That would be awesome, and not terribly hard to create, it would just be really time consuming o_o. If you do it, I'd be glad to throw any pic I've ever taken into the mix

Thanks! I have no life so I'm game to take it on. :D I'll post the acronym list in the next post so we can start seeing what is missing, which will be quite a few cause it was last updated in 2005  Then once I have the completed list, I'll start the pic collecting

Worthy endeavor !

Let me know if you need any pics, might have a few ;)

Thanks Jimmy! I think I'm going to do it in sections. Post up one section in this thread, figure out what we're missing and the get the pics. Then on to the next. Going to be a while before it's complete, but hope it's as cool in real life as my thoughts make it out to be :D Got the email (for pics) and photobucket accounts set up. Just tidy'ing the list a bit (Capitalizing models and such is all. Nothing wrong with Last Visible's list and grateful for it :) just wanted to clarify that statement).

If you want an easy quick grab for model images, l2lku2 has a series of images that have a large number of models that could be cropped for an easy small image reference. If he was willing to furnish you with the full sized images they could end up being fairly good quality snapshots of each model once cropped. Because it's taken from a distance, it may actually also be less distorted by pincushion distortion that you get when shooting close up.

especially the later pages:

Cool. I just tried a test on photobucket and when I direct link to an image, the title doesn't show which I was hoping it would so I could give photo credit. May just have people email me photos with the model name and info if any. Here's the Production list I have. Need help in finding the rest of the Production models and also the Busse Company Store exclusives so I can make a note for those.

Edit: Just saw some posts in your thread and need to add those to the list. Will post the production list soon.

Team Gemini, LB team gemini, Muk, HOG Muk, Sarge 7, pork shank, bear cub, avenger dagger (short and long), and the American Butaniku Sword are several that have appeared since I updated the list last

If you go to jerry's BF profile and click 'latest started threads' you can get links to a lot of the newer releases.

a good post for finding the names of new models:

That depends entirely on how much time you want to devote to it, and more importantly if your willing to update it regularly. All of the major resources for information have fallen behind by at least a year, if not several. It would be worth it, and an upgrade in quality of information, to have someone who was willing to keep an updated list with pictures and information. Likewise, none of the information collection pages have direct links, or direct quotes, on the various model releases. It's one of the things that takes the most digging to find info on. While having the year available is nice, you could easily get more specific if you find the original release page.
