Just to let people know, I've changed my user name from "Kozak" to "Apothecary" to more closely identify with my profession.

I haven't forgotten your Mormon Tea, Yvsa - in fact I've been told of places where they grow and Jerry ( Gunmaker ) has told me that whatever that doesn't detoxify, chapparal does.

Also found some of my classnotes from Paiute 101, including I hope, handouts with drawings of various medicinal herbs.

There was also a reserve copy of a book with Indin medicinals at the library I can photocopy if I remember to.

How bout you Harry, know any good herbs?

Thanks, guys. I'll say this, while I do know some stuff, I don't have all the answers.

Well, do you do cheap medication? I need salbutemol, beclomethasone forte and prednisolone. Oh yeah, and clozapine, 800mg nocte...
Some viagra wouldn't go amiss either...
By the way, nicely appropriate handle, perhaps I should change to mine likewise, but to what? Beats me.

Thanks little brother!!!
I feel that the desert tea will go a long ways in helping my problem.
And like all of the good things from the plant family it makes one wonder if the cure isn't worse than the problem. Just the thoughts of drinking 3 or 4 quarts of the tea a day makes me shudder.

"Harry is an apothecary."
There has to be a little poem in that somewhere, kinda like, Fuzzy Wuzzy was a Bear. Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair. Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he?

I checked in Webster's New World Dictionary of The American Langguage --- Apothecary: a person who makes and sells (and formerly also prescribed) drugs and medical preparations; druggist; pharmacist.

Thank you Harry --- a new vocab for me! ... any prescription for HIKV?

NEPAL HO!

Mohd:

Just keep checking customs - you never know what will turn up next. Or do you?

Oh, Lord have mercy - I just remembered.

I'd been reading up on chili and how during cattle drives the cooks would find chile plants, pick the pods and use them for seasoning.

So one day out on the reservation where I was working, I saw a plant that had a pod that looked like those Greek peppers and picked one. Took it back to the tribal hall and asked what it was. No-one knew what it was. Until a member of the Cattlemen's Association walked in. It was loco weed.

Anyway Yvsa, I'm pretty sure what I have is Mormon Tea. If I run across some mushrooms should I send you some of those too?

David and all,

When it comes to discussing what medications a person is on, I and the other party do find it more productive and mutually respectful in a private setting. Please excuse me for not wanting to discuss personal medications in a public forum for those and other professional reasons.

As for cheap medications, if cost is a factor, bring this up with your doctor as this is a significant consideration in treatment of what ails you.

Herbals are a big area and depending on what "modern medications" and what herbals one takes, it could be a recipe for disaster. Reminds me of the one lady with a liver transplant who had an almost fatal rejection episode after 3 days of Siberian Ginseng. Anyone who feels otherwise is putting their life at risk by not thoroughly knowing their medications and what they could potentially interact with currently.

On a lighter note, I am sorry to dissappoint Mohd and all as there is no pharmaceutic cure for HIKV available at this time. Besides with all the nice khukuris and stuff coming, why would one want to be cured?

As for Jim's denial of HIKV, my judgement as a khukuri knut is once you have more than one khukuri, this is no fluke. You do have HIKV, otherwise, why would you have bought more khukuris in the first place?
