This is my first Busse. I know I don't have to tell anyone here what an awesome knife this is, but it is!! I have quite a few Rats (I know I'll catch **** for that), but I had to have one of these, too. Well, actually I should say one for now - there'll be more Busses for sure!

Also, I wanted to say thanks to Scott & Vicki at the Company Store - they're great to work with; customer service second to none! :D

Thanks for looking,

Greg

Congrats on one of the best Busse's Greg. FSH rocks! Got mine a couple of weeks ago and I still have a hard time setting it down. Oh and you'll have more, that's for sure! :D

Stay Strong & No Regrets!

I think you already caught **** (I-N-F-I)!!!!\

Welcome to the trough.......

congrats! welcome aboard! that's a great score for your first chunk of INFI. you'll find that this place is crwaling with rats..... :D

Welcome and a very nice first score of INFI. The FSH's are killer blades. But wait until those FBM's show up.

Thanks, all!

Yeah, next might be the FBM, but I'll also be keeping an eye out for a SFNO that might need a good home. ;) :D Those look Awesome!!

Very nice knife and nice pics of that bad boy. But I've got a complaint about it ........

...... it's WAY too shiny and new lookin' to be a happy FSH. You'll need to dish out some serious doses of tough love to that rascal to get him grinnin'. Time to get floggin' that beast. ;) :D

Hi Greg, I couldn't tell from the pics- is that the Magnum handle? Thanks for posting the pics- I have the same combination, and every time I see it I can't get over how good it looks! :)

It seems we think alike- but I'm doing it backwards from you- the FSH is my first large premium blade and now I want to check out a Battle Rat and a Camp Tramp. Since they seem to kind of "bracket" the FSH, I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts on how they compare as far as feel and handling, and how you describe the differences. I really want both, but obviously don't need 3 such heavy duty knives- especially since if you tell me I can save my $$ and pass on one of them, I can start on the smaller blades!

Congrats on your FSH, hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine

Scott and Vicki are great to deal with!! I'll have to learn how to post pix some day

RokJok - Don't worry, it'll be a user! :D Dirtier pics to come...

MVF - Out of the bigger Rats, I've got the Battle Rat and the Ratweiler. The BR is the chopper out of the two, with the balance point well out in front of the handle (right at the front of the choil). This, combined with the Res-C grip make it very comfortable, even for longer chopping sessions.

The 'Weiler has it's balance point at the handle/blade junction and is a little faster in the hand. It chops, too, just not quite as well. The handle shape is very good, allowing for different positions. This may be the most versatile big Rat, although many Camp Tramp owners will argue that point!

The FSH (standard handle, by the way) has a balance point somewhere between the two, and with a wider blade than the BR and a full/extended tang, weighs more than either. It's also only 1/4" shorter than the BR, and allows for a better rear grip with it's "beak". This is going to be a great all-around blade.

I love my Battle Rat, but having said that, discounting the difference in steel type, I don't think there would be anything the BR could do that the FSH couldn't do just as well (maybe better). If you want to check out the Res-C grip, try the Camp Tramp. All Tramp owners rave about them. The grip comfort is fantastic, but I like an extended tang.

All the Rats are awesome knives, and as i've learned from these Hogs, you don't have to need 'em to have 'em!! ;) :D :D

FLH - it's not hard, but I hung around a long time before I took time to learn, too!

Just register at one of the free photo sites ( I use http://photobucket.com/), upload your pictures, then use the IMG display to copy and paste here.

Good luck! :)

Greg

Thanks Greg, exactly the kind of info I was looking for! Man, I love this forum!
