Hey all,

Just thought I would share an interesting story with you. -----> Updated! Pictures below in update post

So anyway, as a knife sicko I frequently browse my favorite knife dealers. One of those dealers is TNK. Out of curiosity I started browsing the archived sub section of the Chris reeve inventory only to find multiple regular sebenzas including several unique graphics with basket weave Damascus!! ALL IN STOCK!!

Needles to say I quickly purchased one of the unique regular sebenzas with the basket weave Damascus! So pumped!.....A few hours later I receive an email from Neil stating that he must apologize because the regular sebenzas were not in stock and that it was an inventory error...I knew it had to be too good to be true. After all, how could all those gems be left un-purchased by my fellow knife addicts?

...As I continue to read into Neils email he says that during a recent inventory check, he came up with a particular sebenza that I might be interested in...could it be!? Its a Chris-Reeve-Mas Miracle!!

Thanks to Neil for excellent customer service!

I'll be sure to post more pictures when the knife arrives next week.

That's a nice X-mas present for sure! Congrats!

Kind regards,

Jos

I would really like to dig around in Neils stockroom - he always seems to be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Can't wait to see the pics - please post one of the decorated backspacer - not sure if I've ever seen one of those on a sebenza.

wow! i didnt even know there were factory sebenzas with backspacers. let alone decorated ones.

Finding a Regular Sebenza with damascus blades is definitley a great find. Ive been wanting a regualr raindrop blade for a while now
but they seldomly come up.

I found my large regular with raindrop damascus at TNK about 2 years ago.I think it was the same kinda situation as this because it just appeared one day out of the blue, several years after the Regs were disco'd.Its the only Seb thats always stayed with me....even durung my peak selling frenzys :D

Its hard to tell in these pictures (poor photography) but The stripes are a deep purple with the sharp line from the pivot colored gold.

Here is a shot of the really cool decorated standoff. I havent seen this on a seb before, only decorated pivots on mnandis.

And we cant go without a shot of the yummy basketweave Damascus!

One thing that really stood out to me with this basketweave regular sebenza, is that the Damascus is much darker and richer than the Spirograph Damascus that I have on my Large Seb 21. The Damascus on the large 21 is subdued and a gray color while the basketweave on the regular is more of a blackened color.

I have heard that the gray Damascus is what CRK goes with now but I have to say that I really prefer the darker Damascus that I have seen other regular sebenzas sport as well.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures!

Also, if anyone has any input on the different color Damascus than please fill me in!

Dan

WOW! Check that out!

The contrast in the two damascus blades is striking....

Wish CRK would go back to the coating

From what I understand, CRK used to put a GunKote on their damascus....giving it that sheen.

Oh and BEAUTIFUL Sebenza...that is truly a "Unique" speciman

WOW!!!!! that is a beautiful knife and to think that it got over looked.
