I am new here (to BF) so I thought I should make a contribution. I recently decided to buy my first large, (larger than a common folder) user fixed blade. I'm familiar with, but never owned, Busse/ SwampRat/ Scrapyard. I found BF as a research tool. I began looking at Scrapyard for the cost to performance factor and when no knives were available I did the next logical thing.............and bought up.....a pretty new Skinny ASH!:p

Fantastic dealing with Jerry and Amy. I waited as patiently as a 5 year old and almost spontaneoulsy combusted with it's arrival. It arrived a few days before Christmas so I only had time to fondal.

One day after Christmas I found myself holding my new Busse implement staring at our "no longer neccessary" Christmas tree.

Not a big task but fun nonetheless! Sorry, the pics aren't great; didn't have much room to work and my neighbors were looking at me funny.

Enjoy!

*Afterthougt......The pic doesn't protrait it well but I chopped up this beautiful tree and the pile afterwards fit into both my hands! I was able to pick up the branches in one hand and the trunk sections in the other...sort of sad.*

It was fun! Now....how do I post pictures that are nice and small until you click on them? Sorry for the massive pics! I posted them my Picasa Web Albums page.

Congrats on the new blade,,,,,,,, I own a Skinny ASH1 too ,,,,, nice med. size blade ,,, not too heavy ,,,,,,, gr8 all arounder. Imagine your neighbors eyes if you purchased one of the Larger Busse beauties,,,,, swinging a nice enormous NMSFBM LE . They'd prolly call the law,,,,,,,, rofl

Congratulations, you finally arrived at the world's best knives. Hey I like your photos, I don't like the ones you have to hover over or click on to see. Even when they enlarge, they're not as good.
So what knife is next?

Great knife, got mine a couple months back and use it all the time, best all around knife i've ever had, nice pics. G.M

Welcome to the slippery slope - there is no turning back.

What have you eyed now?

Enjoy the addiction! Nice pics (and the thumbs can be a pain). :D

Copy that...keeping picture format as-is.

Book'em-
So what knife is next?

Well, I thought my next knife was going to be a bigger Busse....15"-ish, more of a chopper. But, my next knife already happened:rolleyes:.

I was on this wonderful board and found this......

From www.TaylorColemanknifeworks.com. It was in the opposite direction of my intended "next knife" but I needed a good fixed slicer anyhow.....right? I've wanted a hamon style knife for a while and just couldn't pass it up. I haven't received it yet but dealing with Taylor has been great!

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome! I know this isn't my last Busse and I'm over it. On to bigger decisions...which one next?

Matt

Welcome, and Nice ASH!!! As far as the neighbors watching, get some big stuff and then watch there eyes...

To be honest, I'm not even sure they saw the knife. After all, I did have my shirt off and I was grunting and spitting wildly. Hmmmm.
