a Christmas Present for Dad...

I was in my favorite pawn shop today, they had just taken in an estate that included about 350 knives. The owner got out several boxes and let me look through the and I found the perfect knife to give Dad this year. It is a Fight'n Rooster and the knife says it all....this is a limited run from 1989...

That's a great score. I'd be very happy if my son ever gave me a knife that nice. I wish I could visit that pawnshop. An estate of 350 knives from a guy who has good enough taste to buy that knife- there's gotta be some good stuff there. Lucky you! Did you pick anything else up?
 
That was all I got today, I am going back in a few days when they have had time to sort them. I was thrilled to find that one for Dad tho...and the timing for Christmas is perfect.

They had some sets that were out of the world tho...
 
You're a patient man. I would have sat there all day pawing through those knives. No old-timer with a good collection of knives (and nobody in his family that wants them) has had the courtesy to kick off in my area lately. I watch the estate sales pretty closely.
 
Ya'll will notice I didn't give out the name or the location of the pawn shop...lol. Nope, you vultures would sweep in and clean 'em out before I got back there.

Thats the great thing about pawn shops, ya never know what you will find.
A friend of mine managed one for a few years. Both of us are heavily into knives and guns. When he would get an estate brought in, he would put it in his office until we went through everything.. Sometimes its like striking gold...
I can't tell you how many old Winchesters and Colts we were able to cherry pick :D Lookin forward to seeing your after pics from your next trip....
