Seems like each time I visit my parents, one of the axes is in poor shape one way or another. This one had caked on dirt/mud, otherwise covered in surface rust but nothing severe, and the edge was beat up.
A little wire wheel, file work, then some stone wet sanding to get an edge back, then bucked a 6-inch seasoned log real fast. The wood is really hard, and I'm no good, so it wasn't "real fast"... I digress.
Axe pictures after the bucking, didn't think to take some before I got it a little dirty again. The handle is a good bit too thick, the fire-treated ones from Ace, Link handles maybe?
