I have been doing a few clips for folks over here of late and happened upon the idea of a carbon fiber clip instead of the Ti ones I usually do.

The one pictured is my working "prototype". Its pretty rough as I just made one to try out and see how well it worked or how long it lasted.
This one has been on my 12 for a few weeks and has actually held up really well.
I made it a bit shorter than the standard EKI clips as I wasnt sure if it was going to be as strong but it seems that was a worry I neednt have had.

There is a couple things I would change for a "proper" one. The drop off for the area where the screws are is a big weak point so I would keep that full thickness and recess the crews. I would also make it about the same length as the origal clips, for esthetics more than anything. I do think CF clips could be a goer though, especially if you have CF scales and/or spacer on that Emerson :cool::thumbup:

I might learn sumting :p

P.S. Your jean pocket looks frayed as all mine do,I was thinking of sewing a leather strip on a pair, to see how it would hold up.

That looks terrific! I think you are on to something big here........ The main reason I edc an older Delica is for the frn clip. It seems I tear everything up with a metal clip, unless I'm very conscious on how I move about. Can't wait till they hit the market, I'll be one of your first customers. Please keep us up to date on your progress!
 
Not make a couple for the Spyderco Military so I can drool over them. :D

That could be a strong possibility.

I have already been asked by folks over here who saw my 12 about doing one for a few Spydercos.
