I have been doing a few clips for folks over here of late and happened upon the idea of a carbon fiber clip instead of the Ti ones I usually do.
The one pictured is my working "prototype". Its pretty rough as I just made one to try out and see how well it worked or how long it lasted.
This one has been on my 12 for a few weeks and has actually held up really well.
I made it a bit shorter than the standard EKI clips as I wasnt sure if it was going to be as strong but it seems that was a worry I neednt have had.
There is a couple things I would change for a "proper" one. The drop off for the area where the screws are is a big weak point so I would keep that full thickness and recess the crews. I would also make it about the same length as the origal clips, for esthetics more than anything. I do think CF clips could be a goer though, especially if you have CF scales and/or spacer on that Emerson
