I know Kit had a lot of friends, me very much among them. Putting the knives aside, I still miss him dearly. About 8 years ago today, he slipped this lockback in my pocket. Other than a few plane trips and a very recent visit to Paul Long's shop the knife has been with me either in my briefcase or pocket since that day. It finally has a deserving "jacket". Thank you Paul.

Wonderful knife, wonderful maker, wonderful man. It couldn't have gone to a more deserving friend of Kit's or mine. He will always be dearly missed.

Hey Gus, is that a pocket clip? I think I'm gonna faint... :p

Nice work, Paul. (As always.)

Most excellent Gus! That knife deserved the proper Paul Long treatment.

Sssshhhh. :D Actually for this larger lockback the clip is exactly what I asked Paul to do. This knife/sheath combo by friends is something else beyond objects to me.

Both beautiful - good for you to have such friends. You must be a friend to have a friend and so I can tell you are well deserving

That is a beautiful combo. I too miss Kit very much. Thank you for sharing that.

On one end of the spectrum it's all about the knives and their merits.

On another end it has little to do with the knives, and more to do with the people. :D

You must be pretty bowlegged, Gus. You are standing FIRMLY in both arenas! One foot a little bit firmer footing, though. ;)

Good thread!

A wonderful combo Gus, unfortunately I never met Kit.

I could not think of anyone who deserves such a wonderful gift more brother. Enjoy.:)

Nice post, Gus, sorry I never had the pleasure of meeting Kit. But you and Paul are winners 24/7, and I'm sure Kit would have enjoyed the union.

I love this, Kit is smiling. I never met Kit, had a few conversations and he was helpful in my having owned some very nice knives.
