Paul Kesslar (bgspecialk) asked me to post this combined effort from Jerry Fisk, Paul Long, Robert Hensarling and of course Coop.

Presentation grade mesquite burl stand by Robert Hensarling of Uvalde, Texas.

Grade A cowhide, presentation desk sheath with an alligator inlay on both sides by Paul Long. The leather has been hand pebble-grained and carved with a quilt pattern
The sheath is fully leather lined.

Six inch ladder pattern damascus dirk with a sambar stag carver handle by Jerry Fisk. Uniquely engraved by Jerry .

Photo's by Jim Cooper.

Gorgeous set. I LOVE the Paul Long sheath. Its amazing how the accents make the whole package. Outstanding job guys. Paul

Great package.....all the components come together great. The stand is very nice, the sheath is excellent but the knife is super. I really think this classic ladder pattern damascus is most excellent:cool::thumbup::cool:

I have one question. How is this set supposed to be displayed. The knife in the sheath or not??

Marcel

Definately is a good set. And I have to say, the background color and arrangement in the first photo makes it a perfect composition. Same for both though.

Good job on all parties.

Every aspect of that set is just stunning and Coop captured it superbly as usual. The owner must be ecstatic to have it.

Great work by all involved. Ladder remains one of my favourite damascus patterns. Absolutely love the engraving on the butt cap.

Joe, The sheath sits on two pins in the Mesquite base and it is epoxied at and in the pin holes and a thin line along the entire length of the riser. It's a pretty solid connection, and not a bad display for a kitchen knife.

It was a fun project and really had me thinking out of the box. I was very pleased to have Robert Hensarling of Uvalde, Texas agree to make the Mesquite burl base for me. This is not his usual wood working fare. He is famous, and rightly so, for his fabulous mesquite rocking chairs and dining room furniture.

bgspecialk, you're expanding the envelope..

Just superior work by all. Paul L., you just keep raising the notch on your sheath making. Paul K., fantastic presentation piece.

Outstanding work, but that is to be expected from all three artists. That is some amazing looking mesquite. Is Robert still making knives and sheaths or is he concentrating exclusively on furniture these days?

Beautiful end results seem quite expected with collaborations like this... :)

Hi Bob, will I get to meet you at least once?
Maybe the coming BLADE Show?

All the best,
