The Confession: About three weeks ago, I bought a GB in S 30V. I had intended to post sooner, but didn't. Oh man, what knife.
The Observations: It took a while to get accustomed to its massiveness, but then the design considerations became apparent. For its size, it is not ungainly or cumbersome. In fact, it is quite comfortable in the hand (love that roughed up G-10). I find that I use the choil routinely for the leverage advantage and comfort it provides. The blade is wicked sharp; the lock up has NO play, really, No play. In fact, I have never had a liner lock lock so smoothly and precisely (and I have owned/ handled tons of knives from lo-hi end). I have stayed away from liner locks for a time, but this lock exudes security. It carries well in the pocket, to my surprise and does not look huge in a belt pouch either. Quite a large knife in a deceivingly small package. I plan to use this as a folding fixed blade when I can get onto the trail or in camp when carrying my Busse wouldn't be practical. Congratulations on a product that is so strong yet well conceived. In this f'd up world, I am glad I have a Strider.
When it comes to tools, especially tools upon which your saftey may ride, it pays to buy the best. Although I am not a man of means, I am eagerly awaiting the new folder. They will make a perfect "brace".
The Plea: hurry up already with the Ti G-10 folder...and why G-10? what advantages does it offer?
