Scott Gilmore, the American who lead a group of Gorkhas against the Japanese in WW II (and author of "A Connecticut Yankee in the 8th Gurkha Rifles") was called "Uncle" by his Gorkhas. I just thought, Uncle Bill, that you should know -- if you didn't already -- that you're in very esteemed company.

Many thanks, Steven. Most of my Nepali pals call me Dhaju (big brother) or Bena (senior brother-in-law). Only neices and nephews ever called me Mama (uncle). But I feel in good company all the same.
