Last year I bought a Blue Ridge Knives Spyderco Native. I carried it for a while and it quickly became and remains my favorite smaller Spyderco. I know that this particular knife has been thoroughly denounced in the forums here as not up to Spyderco’s standards but the one I got locked up tight and did what needed to be done with no problem. I don’t give knives away often and am very careful who I give them to because I would feel so bad if someone cut a finger off or put their eye out with a blade I had given them. I took a bit of a chance and gave it to a younger co-worker who had seen me using it and had admired it. I gave it as a thank you for his having helped me with some work related things and he was pleased to get it even though he did not carry a knife at the time. A few weeks later, I asked him if he used the knife at all and he said that he carried it away from work, usually in the side pocket of painter’s jeans and that it fit perfectly there. Not another word about it until today (eight months or so later) when he showed me the knife with a very small nick in the edge near the tip and asked me if I could remove it. I told him I could and also said I thought it was outstanding that he still had the knife. He said that he now carries it all the time and uses it for everything. So, he’s gone from no knife to carrying one away from work sometimes to carrying one all the time and using it for everything. I am pleased and thought you all might appreciate it too.

You did the right thing, Chemist...

got rid of it while you still could...

Ok, just kidding.

My brother showed me his "new knife" - a Kershaw Ken Onion. Needed sharpening. He was real excited having purchased a "nice knife". I remember being there one day....long ago...(actually just 3-4 yrs. ago!)
