Ok... I've been meaning to do a GAW for a while now. I've won a few smalls ones, and I think it's time to give back.

At one point I had several duplicate sheaths to give away, but over the months I have given almost all of them away.

Since DrBarnes (no he's not a doctor... Or maybe he's a DR of paracord...I never asked) has been so generous to me over the past few months, I figured I'd return the generosity a little bit. Instead of just giving him money, I'm going to make him work for it ;).

First a back story: before I knew him, I entered into a GAW he had for a patriotic D-Guard. Well, along with the D-Guard he sent me my favorite paracord contraption ever - one of his chopping lanyards. I also think he threw in a few other things. I was so taken back by his gear, and most of all his generosity, that I offered to build him a simple website in the hopes that I, and other HOGs & knife lovers, would have a place to go to buy good quality paracord gear. Ever since that GAW, we have become friends. He has been beyond generous by proxying two of my favorite blades - the B4 and DF LE. On top of that, he has made a number of very good Kydex sheaths for me for fair prices.

The Giveaway:

There will be at least three winners in this GAW.

2 lucky winners will receive one Barnes Bands Chopping Lanyard in their choice of color(s).
If you already have a chopping lanyard setup, let me know if there's something else you'd like from Mr. Barnes.

One lucky winner will receive the following:
1 x Detachable D-Guard
1 x Chopping Lanyard
1 x Barnes Band (survival wrist band)

You can view drbarnes' gear to pick out colors on his site, which is linked in his signature here on Bladeforums.

The fun stuff:
We all know that this is a brotherhood and that many of us have been the recipient or benefactor of some serious generosity from our HOG/DOG/RAT brethren.

To enter, tell us a story about how you have been the recipient of generosity on the forums, or a story of your generosity. There's no need to name anyone else if you don't want to. Pictures are a plus, if the generosity was material, or if you'd just like to show off a picture of a secksy blade. If you prefer, a 5 page, single spaced essay on what the Bussekin brotherhood or sisterhood means to you. would be permissible...or just a few sentences. Tell us about the friends you've made, drinks you've shared, trough wars, etc.

I don't want to exclude anybody, so if you are new, or can't come up with anything, feel free to enter just by posting (pics will help!)

My lady will have full control over how the winners are chosen. It may be based on your story, she may use a random number generator to pick the number of your post, or she may just think that your Tigerhide is pretty. I've left it entirely up to her.

Good luck and send me a PM or email with any questions.

You can't beat big Res-C and Chopping Lanyards (they are adjustable and can be put on any blade with a pommel hole):

Great giveaway Flux!!

I was the benefactor of an awesome Leatherman B4 sheath recently! He gave it away for hitting 7000 posts or something crazy like that. I got the sheath and have not been able to stop carrying my B4 around everywhere I can and bragging to all my friends about how I got an awesome leather sheath for free

I do not want to enter this giveaway even tho it is really awesome :D:D Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the oporchancity brother!!!

I once had a really bad WANT for a Basic 5. I love the Basic handle and The Mod INFI and to have both in an EDC size was just the Hogs grunt.
I searched high and low with no luck.
Fast forward a few weeks, a good friend and stealthy ÜBER Hog sent me a box (a huge box) of INFI to fondle and beat to my hearts content. As I unwrapped each knife I discovered a Basic 5 that he had not told me would be in the box nor did he mention his purchasing it. As it turns out he purchased it in true Stealth Hog fashion and specially for ME as an early Xmas gift!!!
It is and always will be one of my most treasured Busse's.
Thank you hog friend!!! You know who you iz!!! ;)

Great GAW bro. This is the kind of behavior that makes this a great place to hang out. Congrats to whoever the winners may be.

Bump with a short video showing barnes' chopping lanyard. I'll try to get one of me actually chopping something ;)

Well....................I have certainly been lucky since joining this forum................. Very Lucky...... in fact, considering that is not normal for me to have much Luck. This place has been very good too me. My first stroke of Luck was buying my first Busse, a (BATAC), from a very nice, patient Hog, named Pete. He spent alot of time explaining the different model's too me. It was very helpful in finding the right knives I needed!
Then there is Pokey...... who encouraged me to enter the Ink contest........ which I had no plan's in doing......I was blown away when I won it!
Hunter's 511 Charity Water giveaway along with a Buy Brown Kydex sheath. I got to donate to a good cause and learn of a great need in other countries however, that also led to the Friendship I established with him. Hunter has helped me with some mighty fine advice. I enjoy conversing with him through Private Messages.
Richard J has been a wealth of information on sharpening and a straight up good guy. I have talked with him many times over the phone and he always gives good advice and information. His encouragement to join the site and become a Gold Member is something all should consider if you benefit from this site!
The CABS sheath I won. It was much appreciated and this guy has a very generous streak.;) DBarnes website......... well it just so happen's I have been eye balling those D-Guards for my NMFBM and will have one or two very soon.
David Brown........ Big ole guy.........Bigger Heart....... and his generosity is all over the place with him constantly giving away sheath's.
Jerry Busse, Pokey, Lexi, Amy-O, Garth, Eric have all helped me with outstanding Customer Service. The whole Busse crew and their hard work make this possible.
The more I name, the more that come to mind so.......... It's not the Possesion's............... It's the people that form the group and the positive atmosphere that keep's me coming back for the Busse/Kin madness!
I am not concerned with the contest as I have won enough, but did want to share the stories of generosity here. I am only too happy to share some Busse goodies and spread the madness on to the next new member's that may visit here. I can't help but add my Luck Rabbit's Foot, my CABS # 676, the number I always use in contest. She is just plain Sexy! Good Luck to the Contestant's.

Dr. B rocks! I will have one of his chopping lanyards someday...either before or after I rule the world...whaah hah Haah!

This is very nice of you. Thank you for the opportunity!

I've had a number of really nice interactions with a few of the guys that frequent here, where they have either gone out of there way to help me or been really patient and friendly despite my "mess-ups".

Specifically,
-both RussMo and Knifehunter have been very giving with their knowledge and patience on deals I've done with them in the past. It may sound hard to do, but I messed up my payments to both of them, and yet they were both very friendly and understanding about it.
-Manum1024 agreed to proxy for me once at the very last minute, and even went so far as to call me before right before raiding began to discuss what I wanted with me.
-Tooth and Nail called me about a small detail on a knife we had a deal on that I don't think I ever would have noticed if he hadn't mentioned it, but he wanted to make sure I was happy.

Overall, I've had a lot of good positive interactions with the people in this forum

Thank you again

I almost forgot to mention Wolfdad / Roger, and that would be a huge mistake. I don't want to get into the specifics of it, but he made me an incredible offer once, just because he's a good guy. He had no reason to make me the offer he did, but he was still very generous and did so, just because I inquired. Definitely one of the good guys.

Thanks everyone for posting so far! I'm going to keep this thread open and pick the winners either tonight or tomorrow.

Ok! Winners were picked last night.

All winners have been notified and I am waiting to hear back from one of them.

Thanks everyone for participating!

Just wanted to stop in and express my gratitude for this opportunity on the forums here! Thank you for putting it on!

Wanted to update this thread since I got the chopping lanyards and survival bracelet today....they are simply awesome...very nice quality! I really couldn't be happier with them!
