I'm interested in a basic 11 and am curious when they were produced and how long they ran. Also were there any LE models or all CG models.

Can anyone that has both compare and contrast the B11 and NMFBM or FBM? Thanks for all the help as always

There was a small run of satin ones done for a Knob Creek (I think) show a few years ago. There was also a few coated ones that Jerry himself put asym edge grinds on, but the vast majority were CG models.

ETA: Didn't see that you'd mentioned the asym ones already RAD

I'd bring my B11 before my NMFBM or FFBM. You can get a lot more done with it being so light. Fatigue is issue with the NMFBM and FBM. Plus being so light, it's more versatile. Yeah you can use a NMFBM for food prep but it's not fun. Funny, yes. Fun, no. The B11 is a bit big for a kitchen knife but it works well.

The only problem with the B11 is its 2 inches too short!!!

Bladerunner, your thoughts on the BM vs the B11 were what I assumed. I am in for b13....if and when

I'd like another basic 11. As it turns out, its lighter, faster in hand, and just comfy to use. Nearly indestructible to boot. Great blade. I wish time never would get tough financially for anyone. Then they wouldn't need to sell such awesome blades.......

I know what you mean. I have sold a couple of blades and firearms when the chips were down and it sucks. But that's life. I have always managed to hold onto the ones that had a sentimental value but some that I really liked have been let go, most recently was my HRTM that I had stripped and sharpened. A great knife and I will get another

I'm curious -- how is it that the B11 is only 2 oz more than the SYKCO 911 which is about 16 oz?

I regret not buying two ScrapYard 1111's when I had the chance...a B11 or B13 would be sweet.

No LE's

Lots of CG's

~20-50 ASYM's hand ground by Jerry for Blade.

Fewer than that of the satins from Knob Creek.

Mucho awesome performance for their weight, but still not as a good as a B13 will be! ;)

Very artistic, have you considered making a poster for your wall of this pic?

Nah, I just hang some of my knives on the wall. They go great with the interior of log home and are quicker to reach that way. :)

Awesome collection and I can tell you have some experience using them, thanks for the input

Thought I might add that from what I've seen here modding a CG to satin should be very easy as the primary grind should be flat and free of major tooling marks. You could likely just strip and rub with Scotch Brite to get a pretty darned clean finish in not too much time….. :)

Basically what I did to this 511 I reground after grinding on my Nubatam 24 grit stone….. ;)

The B11 is just a awesome knife. Works as a machete or as a chopper and a draw knife and is fast handling. Highly recommend one. It would be the last big knife I'd get rid of. Also I happen to like the original res-c handles. From clearing land to camp chores it's great.

Yep. Pretty easy to get a ghetto satin on the CG B11.
