A couple of Ray Kirk "Scagel" pattern folders.. Forged 52100, about 4 inches closed, titanium liners, half stops. The California buckeye burl on top I got back in January of '07. Liked it so much I had to have another so the canvas micarta I just got today. (thanks LarryM:D). It was made in December of '07. Notice the difference in the way Ray attached the scales on the two knives. Great knives at a great price by an ABS Mastersmith.

Ray has been a dear friend for many years now and I have several of his knives. The Scagel is a definite favorite.

Nice get, Rob!

man, Ray makes a fantastic knife. He's the guy that got me into the oklahoma knife scene and you couldn't find a better person.

Nice catch!

I picked up the smaller version (~3 1/2" closed) from Ray at this year's Blade Show. Mine has wood scales and steel liners. Definitely a great little knife for the price.

Very Nice Rob, Great Scores, Hopefully one of his will be in my collection someday, fine fit and finish.

I got one from him this year. Made to match his MS test hunter i have.

Horn scales and firestorm blade.

Thomason you dog!

I know first hand those babies can cut like there is no tomorrow too (meaning the 1 I have does).:p

pryguy, dsvirsky - glad you two got a few minutes to get some shopping in. Great choice I think! ;)

I think the difference is that he did not run the spring pins through the burl handled model and may have flushed them to the liners while using screws to attach the liners and scales as opposed to pins on the micarta and it's liners.

It's great that they are FORGED; in the Scagel tradition!!

This was the one Ray sent me last year a few months following the Blade Show:
