A couple Case knives of mine

Just wanted to share.

Below are pics of my two most recent Case knives. I love 'em. If you know me, you know that previously to these knives I didn't have a favorable opinion of Case. Turns out that my local shop just has a bunch of old Case knives that don't have the best fit and finish. They don't get any new ones so the only thing left is what nobody would buy. At the advice of some forumites I decided to grab a couple from a reputable online retailer and see how they were. They are fantastic knives. I'm glad I took the advice and bought a couple. No play, nice walk and talk and I'm using 'em.

GEC could take a lesson or two from Case regarding how to not have snaggy pins and no sharp edges where the bone meets the bolsters.

I didn't care for the spearpoint blade on the antique bone Case Barlow so I sent it off to a local knife-maker buddy of mine and he ground the tip off into a clip point. It's perfect now (for me). I also have a Swayback Jack in CV. It's also wonderful. I love the jigging on this one as it is not something I've seen before. Feels good in the hand.

Enjoy the pics. ;)

Those are some real nice looking knives! Ive been nothing but happy with my case knives and I do like their antique bone.

Is the sway back Rosewood? Looks just like my case trapper in jigged Rosewood and the jigging was one of the selling points on it for me.

Edit: at second look my trapper jigging isnt as deep as on that sway back. Is that the chesnut bone?

Really nice.
I've been nothing but happy with my case Knives.
Love my sodbuster Jr, my 6208 half whittler, my 310l mini executive, and my 62032 Texas jack.
My only complaint would be the pen blade on the Texas jack that I find a bit weird looking.
I may have to modify it a bit.

Thanks all. Appreciate it.

I think it's chestnut bone, but I'm not positive. I'll look at the box when I get home. It's bone though and not wood. I like the deep rounded jigging.

That's actually a Swayback Gent, not a Jack. I'm carrying the Jack with the same scales today, it's one of my favorite watch pocket knives.

If those are the knives no one wanted to buy in your area you should have a really good time finding nice stuff. The Barlow's a fairly new release, but that CV Gent is pushing 10 years old.

I did check, and it is chestnut jigged bone. Good eye.

Did something about it :D

Not as well done as that Barlow I don't think, but not too bad considering I did it myself.

I think you did a good job. Nice.
