Just wanted to share.
Below are pics of my two most recent Case knives. I love 'em. If you know me, you know that previously to these knives I didn't have a favorable opinion of Case. Turns out that my local shop just has a bunch of old Case knives that don't have the best fit and finish. They don't get any new ones so the only thing left is what nobody would buy. At the advice of some forumites I decided to grab a couple from a reputable online retailer and see how they were. They are fantastic knives. I'm glad I took the advice and bought a couple. No play, nice walk and talk and I'm using 'em.
GEC could take a lesson or two from Case regarding how to not have snaggy pins and no sharp edges where the bone meets the bolsters.
I didn't care for the spearpoint blade on the antique bone Case Barlow so I sent it off to a local knife-maker buddy of mine and he ground the tip off into a clip point. It's perfect now (for me). I also have a Swayback Jack in CV. It's also wonderful. I love the jigging on this one as it is not something I've seen before. Feels good in the hand.
Enjoy the pics.
Later,
Fred
