Here are images of a couple of knives Ron took to the Solvang Show. Hopefully Ron will jump in with the details.

Awesome, fantastic, incredible, undeniable, inspirational, awe-inspiring! Ron's key-hole integrals are getting to be soooooo cool looking! I love the checkering and engraving touches too! :D

My thoughts precisely!

The specs on these two are as follows: These both have about 7" Turkish damascus blades forged from a total of 12 twisted bars each, of 1095 and 15n20 steels. One with ebony and one with checkered and carved desert ironwood. Overall lengths are about 11-1/4" on these. I did a small amount of 24 carat gold inlay and engraving on the ebony piece just to make it bling a little and dressed the ironwood up on the other one. They both have a little Persian influence or I guess you could call them "trailing points" too. A coin gold "insurance pin" runs through both of these handles. Paul Long never ceases to amaze me with putting just the right tuxedo on the knives. And Chuck Ward, what can I say, you never dissapoint me with your magic as well.

"Let-er-rip"!;)

Even though integrals aren't my thing, the workmanship on these is so nice that it deserves a well done!!!!! And....I'm just as impressed with the steel as I am with the workmanship. Pieces like this give us all something to strive to attain.

Thanks for posting, Chuck.

I got to check out the ironwood version up close and the twists are amazing.

I'm really liking the keyholes.

Thank you guys. And Gary, my steel has improved due to the "Kitty Litter" you reccommeded putting in the floor of my forge. Thanks for tip. Now if I can just keep the neighborhood cats out of the forge. :D

Chuck's photos are magnificent....now multiply that by ten and you begin to see what it was like to actually get to hold these two and admire the absolute art in the design and execution. Making the sheaths for these was really a pleasure.

Thanks, Ron.

Paul

Each knife has some aspects that I like, but as a whole I'm not drawn to them at all. I really can appreciate the craftsmanship to accomplish such works, but not my cup of tea.

Just too cool Ron. I really like the flow on both of them, although the checkering and carving on the ironwood really works for me. Love them both.

Breathtaking work, I sincerely hope we will see Ron and Paul at blade ?

gorgeous, gorgeous lovely knives. Well photographed, too.

So cool. The engraved piece is great, but the gun checkering on the "plainer" is the real show stopper for my tastes!

LOVE IT!

Both those knives are very nice indeed, the Persian being my favorite of the two. I am actually lucky enough to own a knife similar to the second one but in ladder pattern damascus.
