Here are a couple of my more popular "Brutus" full-tang Choppers, one in Desert Ironwood Burl and another in African Blackwood. I hope you like them.

This big, full-tang chopper has a 10 1/4" edge-quenched blade of 5160 high carbon steel with acid soaked/forge finish flats, antiqued/
boiled mustard bevels and a filed thumb rest. The handle is done in a "palm swell" style rimmed with stainless steel handle bolts, not pins. This knife is 15" overall length and comes with either a tooled leather "sash" sheath or belt sheath... depending on who makes the sheath. :jdwink2:

Both lovely. That desert ironwood burl is fantastic! For some reason, the blackwood is really drawing my eye also. How does the African blackwood compare to Ebony? (I have been really drawn to the visible grain pattern/texture on old ebony handles for some reason lately).

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.

Big, I prefer Blackwood to Ebony. The African black wood is extremely tough and can come with some wonderful grain and chatoyancy. I'm just finishing up a Fighter now with some beautifully grained African Blackwood. I also remember having a few issues with Ebony checking when I first started making knives and that has turned me off Ebony unless it's been stabilized. Some say there's no use in stabilizing Ebony but, I've never had an issue with it since and that's what I do with it when someone orders Ebony on one of my knives. As to Blackwood, I've never had any issues, just great handles.

Those are extremely well executed knives - I have yet to purchase any from you as they always seem to go quick on the sales forum, but have to say that these are very attractive and would be hard to resist.
