I've been buying a few Bucks recently, mostly discontinued old stock, to add to my collection. I guess you could call the theme of my collection neo-American classic. I have lots of Schrades, Cases, Imperials, some Camillus, mostly discontinued models or classic patterns. I guess I want to stash up a bunch of US made stuff before it becomes a thing of the past. In keeping with that theme, I bought a old-stock Bucktool the pther day and am impressed with the construction of this tool. The fold out tools really have walk and talk compared to some other models. The pliers are also well done, fitting together very well, another thing that can be hit or miss with other brands. I'm happy to have been able to buy one new.

I also picked up a 442T zytel lockback with a pocket clip to round out my edc selection. This will go with a Buck slipjoint and tool. Its a nice knife, edge was very well done and it didn't take only a few minutes to get it razor sharp. Only complaint is no thumbstud, guess I'll have to get a one-armed bandit for it. I looked at some "imported" Bucks, the Sandman model in particular, and although they did seem like decently made knives, I couldn't quite bring myself to buy a Buck made in China. Thats just me, other guys will be happy for what they get at a very good pricepoint. Now I have to find a fixed blade to round out selection. I'm thinking about a 440C Pathfinder, if I can find one.
