Hey all, just got one back from the bluers and the other I finished up last week. Just one more to make out of mokume and I think my Xmas presents are finally done!:D

This first one is 131 layers of C1095 and Pure Nickel in a slow twist. I had the pen barrels hot blued and it turned out OK. The nickel is kind of a gold color. Nextime I am going to etch the pieces to give some texture and then have them blued so I can come back with 1500 grit and polish up the nickel and have white on black.

This one is the same as the first one I did but it is smaller. I think my Mom will like this one better than the big honkin' one. 311 layers of 1095, 15N20, and pure nickel.

Here is the Gentleman's pen next to the Jr. Gentleman's pen. A nice little matching set for Mom and Dad's Christmas presents. ;)

Let me know what you think.

I definitely like the second damascus pattern better. It has more contrast and just jumps out with DAMASCUS that much more. Very pretty, sure wish someone would get me something like that for Christmas!

Never did I ever think that I would be drooling over a pen, yet here I am, with a puddle of slobber on the floor.

LOVE that second one. How can I get on your Christmas list? :D I'm with Charles, where'd you get that nice damascus?

The Damascus Pen & Jr. Damascus Pen are exquisite !

You should have added a pic of the Mokume Twist Pen.

Beautiful craftsmanship ! ! ! :)

Beautiful work. I'm not even into pens but I would LOVE to have one of these. Well done.

Roger

Thanks all, I appreciate your nice comments.

The pen components are bought and i make the damascus steel for the pen barrels.

I get my pieces from www.woodturnerscatalog.com

Yes, I do take orders!:D Steel patterns are about limitless, mokume patterns are straight laminate and slow twist. I have one mokume pen in straight laminate about half done and it is quite nice! I never thought a straight pattern could be so stunning, but it is!

One day, I will buy a lathe and hopefully be able to get some better fit and finish, but again, making damascus/mokume is very time consuming, and well worth the effort.

Anyway, thanks again, and more info can be found on my webstiste:
