I just got a couple new pictures of the forged folder that Ron made for me and thought I'd share. We all know what he can do with a hunter but he ain't so shabby on folders, either.

Very nice Jim. That looks like some of that spalted birch burl that Ron has. The filework looks well done and I really like the damascus that was used for the bolsters.

Those are some really eye grabbing materials in that knife. I especially like the color in the scales and those bolsters are stunning.

Thanks for sharing, Jim! I don't know what Ron's backlog is, but if you keep this up he's going to be a very busy man!!:)

The scales are some of the batch of birch. And the color, the reds really is stunning.

IMHO, Ron has an eye for color, form and materials that is as good as anyone out there today. When I see one of his knives I get the feeling that nothing about it could be changed without diminishing it. Every single part, color, line, materials and even the way it feels in your hand, just HAD to be that way.

I don't know what his backlog is either, but if you're not on the list I think it would be sad.

Jim,

A real beauty!! Is that one of Rons' early folders ? As far as backlog : Get in line behind me cause he is starting my other knife Thursday . Can't wait to see her started . I gave him a few " I gotta have's " and let him have at it . He won't even tell me if it is going to be tool steel or Damascus , I told him to surprise me and he took me at my word . Oh well , be careful what ya wish for or tell a bladesmith to do;) :p
