I recently picked up a Schrade-Walden Alaskan Old Timer Hunter in a hinged box to keep the one I already had with a regular two piece box company. The knives are identical but the sheaths and packaging are very different. I was wondering if anyone knows when in the 25OT's lifetime the hinged box /basket weaved and sewn sheath combo came into being. I believe it was one of the first but I'm really not sure:confused:

Wow, 5 minutes! You're almost faster than Google!:D :D Of course Google would have had zero results. Thanks a lot Michael!

PS- and yet more...where did you ever find a Norm Thompson add from 1965??

Early in my Schrade research, I snapped up every Schrade ad that came my way. Some were from eBay, and a lot from old yard sale science and sports magazines. You missed your chance on these. They were $7.50 each, two for $14!

Nice knives Eric, the 25OT and the single blade 125OT are two of my favorite styles.

Thanks Rusty1, if only someone would have snagged a dozen of these for my first birthday, would have been a lot better than savings bonds!
