I have been waiting for a week for these to arrive, they are my oldest 110's to date. Not sure if the brown sheath is correct for inverted Buck.

From Levine's 4th edition, the oldest is an early second version with brass rocker pin, the other is a third version 3 line. A question about the second version, there is a center swell to the scales is this another identifier for it's age?

I wouldn't think so. The pins in the rear bolster give more info. about dating this knife. First knife, you have a 5th version, variation 3, 1972-74. (last of the forged frame) if there is a felt liner. If not it's the first of the centered frames. A good catch. DM

If your two line has a brass rocker rivet then I associated the wrong photo with it. Then a 3rd version, variation 3, 1967. If the 2 rear pins are visible only on one side. First of the 2 liners. Hard to find. DM

48 years old is nothing to sneeze at for a 110. Both the blade steels are 440C and the slabs are solid macassar ebony. They should clean up real nice. DM

They both are solid, very little side to side play on the 2 line, otherwise great walk and talk for both.

Ok, yours is a 3rd version, variation 8 or 9, 1968-70. Thanks for the good pictures. A great find. The brown sheath I don't think is correct for the knife. That wood needs some boiled linseed oil. Great find. DM

Hey, PCL. You going to clean them up all the way? I have used a lead remover cloth on bolsters. It cleans them up real nice.

I usually use 3 in one oil and 0000 steel wool on bolsters and liners, gunk on blades. I really need to get some oil or polish on both scales as they are pretty dry.

Those pre-dotter 110s are my favorite years for the 110. Great looking knives, should clean up real nice for you. Be sure to post some after pics.

Great catches. Are you going to clean them up yourself, or send them in for a spa treatment?
Does Buck fix blade wiggle in a spa treatment?

I'll first clean them myself, mineral oil, oooo steel wool etc. But for the blades I would send to spa. I would like to know the value of each pre spa and after.

Is oooo steel wool fine enough not to leave scratches?

I am thinking abut buying a $10 beat up 110 just to disassemble and try different cleaning techniques.

In my limited experience compared to others it has never left any identifying scratches that I have seen on my knives. I can recommend it.

Here's the 3 line after some oooo steel wool, 3 in 1 and then some BLO.
