A couple of Forged 1086M blades...

First one is a camp knife with ironwood and forged flats..Second one is a carry/edc with forged flats and sheeps horn scales. Did a differential heat treat but wasnt really shooting for a hamon. Still ended up with some nice frosty lines though..Looking forward to trying a real hamon with this stuff..

What is 1086M and where can you get it? The knives look great, by the way. I love forged flats.

Thank you..1086M is a high vanadium, low manganese steel similar to W2, just with a little less carbon..Only one guy has it and thats Howard Clark..He bought about 5 tons more than a decade ago from a trowel making company.He did sell some of it..An aquantince on mine found out I had been looking for some and hooked me up..
