Greeting to all. The GEC liner locks, am I right in thinking isn't like the Walker liner lock, that has a indent ball set up to hold the blade shut and no back spring, but more like a slipjoint that has a locking tab only to keep it from shutting?
Also has anyone have a comparative pic of the #73 and a #42 maybe next to a Bic disposable lighter for a size reference.

Much appreciation and thanks in advance, Kris

You are right on about the liner lock. Backspring with a simple blocking bar.

I've been thinking about the 23 with a liner lock. Might be an accident waiting to happen? How strong are the springs? Same as a lockback?

Some pics.

I had a #23 with a liner lock. The springs were just as stout as the average 23. That said, it was no trouble to both unlock the tab and move the blade to the half-stop position when closing it. In all honesty I was impressed with the precision and ease of operation in something that might otherwise constitute a pretty little finger guillotine.

Wow 15 minutes and all my questions answered this truly is the coolest forum BFC has!
Thanks for the pics Sonnemann.
