A couple of hatchets I've cleaned up.

I picked up these two heads for a couple of bucks at a local junk shop. The smaller one has an emblem that I just can't seem to read, if someone has an opinion on what it might be I would love to hear it. The Plumb is a work in progress, I hung the head today. I cut it down a bit and I'm still doing some finishing touches on it. They both perform a lot better than the newer junk they sell at the home improvement stores it seems. I think I'm getting addicted to the axe stuff.

Thanks, I'm shaping it still but I got anxious and carved out and hung the haft to see what it would look like.

Why did you cut it down? Was the bit badly damaged? Looks like that was a Plumb Cedar pattern hatchet.

I don't think it is hardened, it was mushroomed a bit when I got it. It does have some texture to it which is unusual. I find the thing kind of unusual all the way around. I was thinking of taking some off the back and making it more like a tomahawk but I didn't want to do that if it would mean something to someone.
