Hey guys, just want to show off some of the results of my tinkering around. I dyed the para with black Rit dye and stonewashed both blades. I think they came out nice and it was fun messing around with them.

Thanks for the compliment. The stonewash actually came out better than I thought it would, I used the dryer method. The only problem was that it blunted the tips pretty good.

Is that the finished result of black rit dye on digicam? It doesn't look any different to me.

Yeah finished result. I don't know why, but that pic doesn't really bring out the color. Maybe because its next to the Tenacious it looks more green.

The darkness of the dye depends on the temp and how long you leave it submerged. I'll see if I have a better pic. Here is a pic of the same knife, see how much darker it looks.

I see it now, that is darker. I was thinking of going blue camo on my military. I wonder if that would work over the green?

I love that stonewashed finish. I wish Spyderco would use it a bit more often seeing as I'm not just real fond of shiny blades.

Don't use navy blue or it will just turn out like mine above. I would try the royal blue if I were to do it again.

Most OEM so called stonewashes are really more like a satin or bead blast finish. The only one I've seen in person that would come close to being a real stonewash is a Hinderer.
